BIRD NEWS:86 & vacation notice
December 15th 2012 17:46
Just to let regular readers know that I am taking my annual 3-4 week break from blogging, so do not panic if there are no new posts for a time. My father's health is declining and I find it difficult to keep up my 5-6 blogs as it is, so I need a few weeks breather. I hope to write 'slow but sure' across the break, so I have some new material ready to post in the New Year....
To end this years posts, I can say that now the garden is frost-ridden, robins, thrushes, blackbirds, sparrows and starlings are munching rapidly and the daily food put out sometimes includes extra tid-bits - especially now we have a non-bird sharing the food in the form of a squirrel. We have not yet seen the redwings or fieldfares this year. There are more magpies around this year - last year they lessened once the rotting apples had gone. This year they have stayed.
