Let us start a new year of photos with a new bird - well, a fairly young one at any rate. This is a young blackbird.

As you can see blackbirds can sometimes look like leaves, when seen through a window. This one is doing a leaf imitation....
Now you can and now you cannot see it style. This is a clearer photo - followed by another blob one.

I didn't know blackbirds could disguise themselves like that. I like that first picture-- he looks like he might be gathering material for a nest.

some blackbirds did nest in the tree last year - or the year before. Robins, pigeons, doves, thrushes all have in the 3 years I have been back in England.
