If you ever want to know what contentment looks like - observe pigeons! Sometimes they may squabble and dance, show off and fight, but at other times, they are so contented and peaceful.
Here are Scruff and Black Scruff, resting shortly after having taken baths in the water dish.
I just had to take more than one shot. They were far too satisfied to budge. They just stared at me, as if to say 'your water tub provides our favorite bathing place - mmmmm.' As our wintry weather turns warmer, be it for one day or spring, the pigeons are sun-baking again. Sometimes after bathing on the lawn, and sometimes on the windowsill, just for the fun of it.
