Dealing with the rain
September 22nd 2008 14:46
It was raining - pouring in fact. I had a few moments spare and took a look outside - camera in hand. Wedged in a tree crevice was our tame crested pigeon.
We have seen a lot of this little fellow since. It has developed quite a personality since its original scurrying about introduction.
There was also a dove, sheltering in the poinsettia.
I thought at first that they were just waiting for seed-feed time, but the crested pigeon seems to have moved into our yard permanently.
Laster on, I looked out again - without my camera. This time, the crested pigeon was sitting on the lawn beside the path, alone, ignoring the rain. It did not seem to take notice of anything at all. It just sat there, daydreaming or sulking, its crest somewhat droopy. I shall call this specific bird Dreamy, taking the positive option. There is more to come - both story and photo wise - concerning Dreamy!
