Friday fears

We had terrible gales last night, but I did not realize how dramatic they were til getting up this morning. There was luckily no major damage - but a giant chunk of carport roof had rolled across the yard towards my vegetable patch - and one of the 2 pigeons that live on our roof did not show up for breakfast.
I was rather unsettled til dinnertime, worrying in case the pigeon was injured. Luckily they BOTH came down to dinner-seeds twenty minutes ago though - along with a starving Smokey and Spotty.
I think the other city pigeons are somewhat reluctant to venture out, even if the winds are calmer now. there are still rolling dark gray clouds up there...
There were only our two, Smokey and Spotty, and Black Scruff for dinner tonight - we usually have 1-2 dozen rather than five. I hope to be spending time in the yard tomorrow - so hopefully the winds will be gone, those ominous blackish clouds won't pour, and the pigeons will all be back!
