Heron Happenings
April 18th 2008 19:23
Last week, I tested out my x12 regular digital zoom combo on a white-faced heron that landed in my back yard and proceeded to munch bugs for lunch from the vegetable patch café.
You will have to excuse the geranium and rose bush getting in the way - I am still learning the features and focus on my new 'toy'…
I did take 2 shots of a younger heron yesterday, when it flew onto the washing hoist and then into bug-land territory - ho hum, unmown grass - but have not got the latest pics onto the computer yet, so will probably post those in the future. Here is the last of my first heron shots on the new camera though.

Do Herron's eat nectar or is he chasing bugs?
Maybe taking time to smell the roses?
*laughs* I enjoyed your pictures although Herrons are on the taboo list now as far as I go, after a local one swopped in a couple yars back, and gobbled up all my goldfish 'family' from the pond ... (you can read about it on this [LINK] ) - no doubts a bit of a vile act ... but I fixed him and put up a shade sail for camoflauge ... now he's forgotten where they are.
Those camera skills ain't bad...
