Magpie muncher

One of the baby magpies from a previous year recalled we exist as a cheese donation cafe. He came to visit us a few days ago, giving me the opportunity to snap him on the camera.
So, why has he turned his back on me? Is he camera shy? NO! He has a piece of cheese situated behind him. Cheese is far more interesting than trustable old women with big grins on their face! He did almost turn towards the camera for a little while - cheese morsel safely tucked into beak.
Finally, he obliged - though he would not put down his treasure - in turning towards me and my camera. I guess in the magpie world, it is better to hold cheese than say cheese for a camera!
The magpies used to pay a daily visit, so it is nice when one returns all of a sudden, remembering us.
