A few miscellaneous moments I have caught when peeping out of the window this past week:
* A turtle dove rests on the lawn. It sinks down amongst the grass and simply nods away contentedly, occasionally nibbling a grass seed but mostly resting.
* Black Scruff pecks in a grass patch. Wandering along the lawns, he stops and nibbles a few seeds before continuing along towards the other rock pigeons.
* Bawwab looks up at me from her perch on the trash can and scratches her chin.
* Splash, splash, splash - oh, which pigeon is bathing in the drinking water this time, I wondered… It was not a pigeon - or the magpie-lark or myna bird which both also sometimes take a dip. A butcherbird was taking a bath! It seems the pigeon's water bowl has become the local swimming pool for birds!
* Bawwab sat on top the indoor lamppost, her hub staring longingly from the doorpost as she wiggled her wing. (This is pigeon for 'please nibble my neck' or 'romance request.') They had already had a double sex session, but it must have been one of those days, for she was asking for more. Alas, hubby had nowhere to perch close enough to oblige!
