I should have my own home computer again next month, and the net at home the month after - PHEW! ( I have so many photos and videos to share...) But the main news this week is one of sadness for the birds - their tree on the front vergeof our home has been chopped down, removed competlely-roots and all.
The bluetits used to climb all over the tree and nibble bugs - the jackdaws and starling used to sit on it and call out - the robin used to sit on it for a short time before flying onto the gate - sparrows, wood pigeons, blackbirds all used our tree...
I am uncertain why the council chopped it out, rather than cut it back as they did the rest of thetrees on our street - and i do not know why they churned out the roots rather than allowed a regrowth, as they did in our Aussie home when they cut down the tree out front, but it is sad...
