Oooh! Lots of babies!

Taking a break from my photography for a writing, allow me to share the pleasure of lunchtime…
I entered the kitchen in order to toast a cheese and garlic sandwich for my father’s second lunch around 1pm. As I entered the room, I spotted a bird sitting on the upper window pane. (The window was at an angle as it was open.) To my delight it stared in at me, curiously - before flutter-flying to the ground below - a baby blackbird!
Moments later, I spotted a father blackbird and the baby sitting in the stone bird bath. The father was feeding great chunks of food to the baby who wolfed it all down quite happily. As I finished toasting my dad’s lunch, I spotted a pair of baby blackbirds playing under the kitchen window. I stayed to grab a few photos - which I will share in due course - and was amused. In the human world, unlike the feathered world, it seems that children supply their parents with food, I thought - delivering lunch to my father…
Returning to my bedroom, I spotted that the recent squeaks had emerged from their nest - a pair of baby wood pigeons greeted me on a branch outside my window - just as curious as the baby blackbird peeping in at me - and my bright pink camera…
