Our precious pigeons...

I am going to miss those dudes when I relocate overseas in a few week's time. I was going through my pictures, 'pruning' my stock so that my photo collection will fit on a CD to take with me, and have only just realized how many photos I have of them. I now only have a few hundred... but must have originally taken a few thousand - on pigeons alone.
Beautiful moments that stand out over the past 4 years of feeding these birds include when the first show-pigeon we met first hand-fed from me, when they built a nest on next door's roof and had their first pair of snow white twin babies, when the original pair walked right into our house without fear and tried to build a nest on top the linen closet, when one of the 4 youngsters born on next door's roof sat on my head or had a nose-2-beak thru the window when I was down n blue, and watching the youngsters marry off to city flock stock...
I am going to miss these beautiful birds dreadfully when i move - my father says they only have ONE 'big fat' pigeon where he lives, and I do not expect to live close to a breeder than sets free unwanted stock again...
I have learned plenty from these birds and am grateful to them for what we have shared. I am sure I will befriend many more feathered friends when we relocate to England - but they will be different and I will miss the friends that I leave behind...
