Our roof
April 4th 2008 04:45
The pigeons land upon our roof as if hand gliders landing on their chosen
X-marked spot. Sailing down, preparing, and then hitting target. Usually…
(One might catch the edge and foot-stumble from time to time though.)
Waiting for touch down, they fall the last few wing lengths onto the roof - CLUNK!
Pigeons running across the roof sound very loud as they chase one another for prime perching position. They roost up on the alcove above my bedroom on some nights. They do not like to share their selected spot, however. They will fight or chase each other all over the roof, just to be alone in that chosen spot. They also like to spend the night standing on next door's windowsill sometimes, but she is not very happy about this. She rattles her window and shoos them off. There are only 3 pigeons that live here currently, though. Now that our Smokey has a wife that roosts elsewhere.
For regular readers - I managed to grab that digital camera bargain that I previously mentioned! Give me a week or so to figure out the instruction booklet and learn the new buttons, and I should once again have decent rather than blurry pictures to post! A trip down south to Kiama is coming up - and another walk to Corrimal is also planned for later this month - think PELICANS AND FAIRY-WRENS!!
I will share the last two photos I took on my old camera.
Just the home-crowd and their buds lazing about.
