Photos from Dec 09-May 10 - 4

Next, I would like to share with you some photos of other birds that have visited my windowsill at the same time as I had my camera handy. Firstly, WP the wood pigeon.
Usually this bird is satisfied to sit on the tree outside my window and pep in at me from there. However, on this occasion, he decided to investigate the crumbs I had put on the sill that had been attracting other birds and I managed to get a couple of photos of him staring in my bedroom at me inquisitively.
The doves are no stranger to my sill - Mr and Mrs Coo both stroll up and down it on occasion, sometimes taking a nap in the sunshine after lunch or nibbling crumbs I may have put outside.
Here you can see that doves are just as curious as pigeons, sparrows, blue-tits, and various other birds. They all like to stare at humans as much as we like to observe them, it seems. You can also clearly see the difference between the English collared turtle dove and the Australian speckled neck turtle doves if you flip back to my postings of last year that include dove pictures from Australia.
