Dusty made a late night of it for me, last night. I had gone to bed an was in the 'toss and turn' stage of trying to get to sleep, when I heard a pigeon land on the roof above me. I had hopes that Baby or Bebe might have come home to spend the night on my alcove, or perhaps Smokey had got hungry and come to find a sure feast.
I was wrong - it was Dusty, come for a fresh drink. I thought he wanted some seeds, so tossed a few out, but he seemed more interested in the water tub. Perhaps his usual water supply had dried up or become dirty? He did end up eating some of the seed I threw down for him, but left half of it and flew off suddenly, as if remembering something of importance - perhaps his wife!
