I am beginning to wonder what became of the birds that were born on next door's roof. I know that BabyNob flew into my son's bedroom window and then walked along the path and found a place to die near to his birth-nest, next door. I know that Smokey married Spotty and disappeared in the day to go make baby pigeons - although his greed for seed brought him back several times a week until recently. I have not seen them for over a month now though.
The twin pure-whites, Baby and Bebe also seem to have vanished. Bebe moved out with a lover and came home for seed-feeds, but has not been seen for several weeks - a little too long for it just to be baby birds. Baby used to live on our house for the longest time of them all, but still, now too he has left us - and does not come back for seed.
I am thinking that I may pop down the rose gardens and see if they are all right - to lose contact with three all within two months seems to be rather strange - considering that the flock of city pigeons that they hung out with still visits. Dusty and Speckley still visit, and several Scruffs, BlackScruff, etc - but no Baby, Bebe, or Smokey!
