Bird Story - August 2008

The New Pigeon

Last Monday morning, I peeped out of the window and spotted a new pigeon pecking about at the left-over barley seed, post breakfast munch. Baby1 and Bebe2 only having had a few guests for breakfast, the less popular barley seeds had been left to last. Dusty, Speckley and Scruff had bought a new friend with them though.

I am not sure whether to call it whitecap, blackback, or whitehead. I shall wait to see if it comes to visit more often before deciding, perhaps! It may be like the black and white pigeon that visited us last week - only coming once. I do not know, but assume it to be male - seeing as neither of the two young men were chasing it to stake a claim!
