The pelicans

I had some time free, for once, on the weekend - so took a stroll down to the harbor. After spending a little while seated in contemplation, observing my fellow species rushing past in bouncing jogs or hurrying by in rapid walks, I wondered if anybody else was out just for fun, with no set path or destination. Everyone seemed to be hurrying to some place, or out for the purpose of 'keeping fit'. Nobody else seemed to simply be wandering at leisure and enjoying it.
Shortly after recommencing my promenade, I spotted a pair of pelicans, that likewise were seated in contemplation. It seems I have more in common with my feathered friends than my own species, sometimes!
They observed me and I observed them… and just like with the pigeons on my windowsill, we seemed to be relating on the level of wondering WTF the 'other species' was exactly…
