This and that quickies

I have been busy turning out our home so that it will fit in our 3 suitcases - which I finally purchased on the weekend. I have therefore not got any more photo to share with you yet - though I hope to take some whenever I find the time to take a leisurely walk along the coastal track. Therefore, I just have a few snippets of yard-happenings to share today.
* There was a fluttering by my window - it turned out to be a bulbul trying to munch something stuck in a spider web on the outside!
* Smokey is near fearless! When my neighbor got nasty and the other pigeons were shocked into fear and flew away in misery, Smokey stood his ground (or should I say lamp post) and just stared at her, defiantly. (He is an intelligent bird - HE knows that her 'shoo shoo' ing and rattling of a tub on the wall is harmless in reality - it just sounds so terrible!)
* Spotty has been brave enough to sit on the open door top next to her husband-bird, Smokey! It was lovely to see them both resting there so serenely whenever I peeped up from reading my book. (Until my neighbor got home, and frightened all the birds in the yard and Spotty flew away, followed by a forlorn Smokey chasing after her.)
* There have been a lot of lorikeets around lately. This may be baby lorikeet season, or it may just be that since my neighbor's rudeness I have been putting out MORE seeds so my feathered friends do not feel discouraged from visiting.
